CHP refines description of truck suspected in River Road hit-and-run crash

The CHP has refined its description of a white pickup believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a prominent San Francisco lawyer on River Road last weekend.

Authorities believe they are looking for a Ford F-150 XLT four-door or possible Lariat, white with black door handles and a gold stripe running along the bottom, CHP Sgt. Robert Mota said.

It was likely a 4-wheel-drive model released between 2004 and 2008, Mota said.

Authorities released a photo of a new XLT in hopes it will help them track down the suspect's vehicle.

Any damage to the suspect's pickup would be in the right front area, the CHP said.

Such a truck was caught on surveillance video in the area of Sunday's 7 p.m. hit-and-run on River Road across from Odd Fellow's Park and east of Guerneville, the CHP said.

Don Andrew Casper, an avid long-distance runner and prominent attorney, was staying with friends in the area when he went out for a jog and was struck on the side of the road, the CHP said.

Casper, 43, died at the scene.
