Give Back Tuesday will benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy with funds being channeled through the Red Cross. A substantial and varied gourmet buffet with many contributions from aspiring chefs and local restaurants should make this a $5 feast to remember,  plus raffle prizes have been rolling in by the truck-load. The Russian River Sisters have organized a Transgender day of remembrance to honor those who have suffered tragedies due to intolerance and a lack of understanding. The event will get rolling at Guerneville’s Sonoma Nesting Company at 6 p.m. with a performance by Cazadero resident Gwen “Sugar Mama” Avery followed by speakers and photo exhibits. A candle light procession will proceed to the R3 resort and then to the Whitetail Wine Bar for additional activities. The R3 asks that people who attend bring a side dish and there will be a contest for the best side dish with prizes for the winner. If you bring a side dish there’s no charge and if you don’t,  a $5 donation is requested.
