Seaside Metal brings seafood to Guerneville
Seaside Metal is coming to Main Street, and the news has many people excited, including Michael Volpatt and Crista Luedtke, owners of Boon Eat + Drink and the Big Bottom.
The new addition to Guerneville’s fine culinary choices will be owned and operated by Mike Selvera and twin brother Tim, who currently own Bar Crudo on Divisadero near Grove in San Francisco, and will focus on oysters, a raw bar, fish stews and other seafood choices currently unavailable in Guerneville.
Bar Crudo originally opened on Bush in 2005, and the brothers added the Divisadero location in 2007, only to close the original space due to the unhealthy economy.
Bar Crudo has met with great success, partly due to Divisadero’s burgeoning gentrification, and Crista Luedtke calls it “one of my favorite restaurants in The City.” She says the Selvera twins “are good buddies of mine,” and she is “super excited” about Seaside Metal, which is expected to open in March, 2013.
The restaurant will feature local craft brews and Russian River wines, and Luedtke is cheered and looking forward to the prospect of a “whole new level of culinary expertise” available just a few doors east of Big Bottom and Boon Eat + Drink.
Seaside Metal (named for the boats idly rusting at the nearby coast) will occupy the space at 16222 Main St. next to the Rainbow Cattle Company, and if user ratings from foodie publications such as Food and Wine mean anything, it should be a very welcome addition to the well-received restaurants Guerneville currently boasts.
