A Roseland-area taco truck caught fire early Sunday morning, totaling the vehicle and sending thick smoke into the air.

The 2005 truck was parked behind Perry?s Deli on Sebastopol Road when smoke was reported billowing out of it just after 6 a.m. Santa Rosa Fire Division Chief Mike Jones said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was extinguished by 6:46 a.m.

Fire officials estimated the loss to be $100,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

All propane and batteries inside the truck were turned off at the time of the fire and because the vehicle was fairly new, an electrical fire would be unlikely, Jones said.

The truck had not been used in a couple of hours and all cooking materials had cooled, Jones said.
